Sebastopol-Fun Filled Afternoon

I must confess my obsession with the Stache. The Moustache that is. If I were a man, I dare say I would have one. And I would try to cultivate it and maintain it in such a way that it would curl, loop, and do a little dance on command.

It would just happen to be my good fortune, but I  have a friend with a curl-tastic Stache.

The Stache

The Stache and I stopped in for a bit of play time at Funk and Flash. Youth and cutting edge beauty was positioned behind the counter. She helped us and played dress up with us for a bit. We partook in frisky, amusement filled clothing touching and hat trying time. I tried taking a few different kinds of photographs of her-She had more than one angle to be observed from.

Seattle – Blurred Edges

I spent the weekend in Seattle visiting family and taking in the City. It was a blustery and cold weekend, but it was refreshing in a sense-And I had the chance to check out Chihuly’s Glass and Garden Instillation. While wondering about I took a few photographs. I have to admit that it was just one of those days-All of my shots were completely out of focus. But I played with them, attempting the “when life gives you lemons” story. It can be surprising what is possible when the edges of life and imagery blur. Accepting that every shot I take will not be perfect-That I will have to work with unexpected flaws, fills me with terror and delight.

In essence-This blog is dedicated to the joys of failing, and finding something else hidden within the absence of perfection.

Emeryville – Afternoon Strolls

I took part of an afternoon to have a stroll through the Emeryville shopping district. I was captivated first in conversation, and then behind the lens by a young woman working in one of the shops. She had a really lovely sense of herself, and her weight in the world. A beautiful smile and inquisitive eyes. On my way out I spotted a young woman, looking absolutely stunning, a ray of sunlight against a chilly afternoon. At the moment I find myself writing less and seeing more-My images replace that of  voice, speaking of the travels and faces that most captivate and intrigue.

San Anselmo- Waiting for the Train at Midnight

How do you keep New Year’s Eve classy? One waits for the midnight train, dripping with jewels, tendrils of hair framing a striking face. Prepared with a jacket swung over a crisp shoulder, lingering, anticipating, waiting. Laughing and loving in the company of those closest to you. Embracing the moment, for all the beauty and heartbreak that it brings.

Oakland-Holiday Bustle

I recently was working in the East Bay, and realized that I had not had the opportunity of yet to do a bit of street photography there. I decided to go and do a bit of holiday shopping along Piedmont Ave and see who else was out and about a week before Christmas. I was taken back at how many lovely backdrops I was able to stumble over while photographing people as they made their way up and down the street. Many people where heading home from work, grabbing a coffee and window shopping a bit.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday and has a safe and enjoyable New Years Eve. I just want to thank all of my readers for an amazing year, and I look forward to what 2013 will bring. At the moment my intention is to put together a post that will highlight my favorite images from 2012. So stay tuned for that!
